The Biggest Little City in the World

On our way to Reno, we stopped in Carson City, the capitol of Nevada, and toured the state house.  It was not as elaborate or fancy as the previous state houses we've seen, and in fact their House and Senate don't even meet in that building.  They have a separate building behind the state house.  We did see the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Supreme Court and had a nice chat with two very friendly capitol officers.

We arrived in Reno:

The first thing we did was take a walk on what's called the River Walk

and wound up at the National Automobile Museum.  This was a huge museum filled to the brim with classic cars from the 30's, 40's and 50's.  Each and every car regardless of age was restored to its original condition -- polished, and in mint condition.  My brother-in-law, Jim, would salivate if he were to visit!

Following is, in my opinion (NOT Joan's), the classiest chassis in the place:

There was only one car we were permitted to actually sit in.  Here I am in period dress.  As a matter of fact, Joan enjoyed the many gowns displayed with descriptions of their beautiful handiwork.

And here is a picture of my first car, an old VW bug.  Unfortunately, mine was tan and not a converible; but you'll get the idea.
