A Peek Into Grand Teton National Park

After breakfast, we went to the Grand Teton Welcome Center and met a very interesting gentleman from North Carolina. He and his wife volunteer a few days a week for 6 months each spring and summer here in Grand Teton in exchange for a free campsite. Though their gate is for cows, they tell everyone they live in a "gated" communlity.

Inside the Welcome Center was a museum of sorts with a herd of stuffed elk which seemed incredibly large up close. The paintings of scenery were beautiful. We watched a short movie about Grand Teton National Park and went on to drive the suggested loop road to give us a taste of what we will see tomorrow when we go deeper into the park and do some hiking. We noticed a warning sign that made us question who would not obey it.

The scenery was great!
