First Look at Boise

We started the day with an oil change for the Ford Escape and headed uptown.  First stop:  Capitol Building, of course.

Like many of the others on our route, it was built a long time ago and was loaded with marble.  Their dome was similar to others we have seen.  What was odd here in Boise, was the lack of security in the building.  We just walked in and looked around.

On the grounds in front of the Capitol Building was a statue of Lewis & Clark and their Indian guide.  So I helped them point out the way west.

Last stop of the day was the Discovery Center of Idaho.  This is a hands on science museum  with more than 160 exhibits much like Discovery Place in Charlotte and the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

We could have used our niece, Christine, to explain some (or many) of the exhibits!  There was a school outing and I enjoyed watching them as much as they watched me.  (I LOVE being a child!)

Of all the attendees today, I do believe we were the only ones who got the Senior discount!

I was very proud that I was able to toss a disk onto a moving circle and it remained upright for a few moments.  I also was able to suspend a small beachball  in the air using a blast of air.  I think it's called the Bernoulli Principle or something like that.  The child in the background, as you can see, was entrhralled.
