I thought yesterday's blog would be the last on Yellowstone, but when I wrote that I forgot that the only reasonable route available between West Yellowstone where our hotel was and Cody, Wyoming (our next stop) runs right through the park. Oh well, why not? And besides, it gave us the opportunity to see two other sites in the eastern part that we had not seen before -- the Mud Volcano and Lake Yellowstone.
Leaving the park on US 14, we travelled what is called "the most scenic 52 miles in America" and came to the Buffalo Bill Dam on the Shoshone River. At 325 feet in height, it was the highest in the world when completed in1910. Very impressive, as you can see.
