We then strolled around "Bathhouse Row" and toured an original restored Victorian Bath House which is now the Park Information Center. There was a film about the history of Hot Springs and the therapeutic baths. On the top level of that building, the ceiling was colorful stained glass with beautiful pictures.
We chose the best, Buckstaff, which has been operating since 1912 for our whirlpool mineral baths. Joan went to the somen's section and I went to the men's. Make sense? What an experience. They have to add cool water to the mineral water that comes out of the ground to reduce the temperature down to 100 degrees. I just sat in this big circa 1912 tub for 30 minutes then moved to a steam closet, then a needle shower and wound up in a cooling room. Joan's experience was similar but included a sitz bath.
After all this relaxation we then drove to another part of the park and went to the top for anther fabulous view.
By the way, after our last journey when I bought 20+ T Shirts, I promised Joan I would not go crazy with shirsts again. Up to now, I had not purchased any on this trip. But today I just had to have one from the tower and one from the bathhouse which Joan agreed to. I hope this does not lead to another binge!
