If you ever want to visit Muskogee, Oklahoma, don't do it on a Monday because that day 1/2 the town is shut down. That's probably an exaggeration but the two things we hoped to see were closed - the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and the USS Batfish Submarine and War Memorial. We will visist the OK Music Hall of Fame in the morning, before we head to Oklahoma City, but the USS Batfish is closed until Wednesday, so it is a loss for us this time around.
I am also disappointed that my secretary could not figure out how to add music to this blog. Today is the day I wanted you to open our blog and hear, "I'm proud to be an oakie from Muskogee....." It's hard to find good help these days!
We made the most of the day by running a few errands and walking around downtown Muskogee (3 blocks.) We then drove to Honor Heights Park - 132 acres of lakes, azaeleas, roses and ducks - and walked around the big lake a few times.
Not a very exciting day to read about for you, but relaxing for us. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better!
