In the morning we first got an oil change and tire rotation to keep the Escape running for awhile.
We then started the fun part of the day at Cow Town which is an outdoor museum consisting of 40 different buildings dating back to the 1870's when Wichita was just growing after the rail line came in to carry cattle to the East......thus the moniker "Cow Town."
All the buildlings were authentic and dated to that period, although they were not all from Wichita. Some were moved from other parts of the state. It was laid out on two dirt streets. Joan felt it was right out of the "Bonanza" set -- the bank, hotel, saloon, general store, barber shop, one-room schoolhouse, church, etc. were just as depicted on TV when Pa, Hoss and Little Joe went to town.
Here is Peter preaching in church -- fire and brimstone!
