Leaving Hot Springs, we decided not to take the "normal" route of interstates, but rather to take the more scenic Route 7 north through the Ozark National Forest and the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. It was indeed much more scenic.
Of course, it was only a 2-lane road instead of 3 or 4 in each direction. Scenery was amazing, road was constantly turning and twisting and that was a thrill to itself. It was only when we finished the route and returned to normal terrain did we notice there was first a sheriff's car and then an ambulance heading to where we just left.
We did arrive in Branson, Missouri safe and sound (photo above is of the Welcome to Missouri sign but it is hard to read) and proceeded to choose our show for the evening. We opted for "SIX" which proved to be very good. Six brothers (out of 10 - they rotate in and out on different nights) were quite entertaining and sang all kinds of songs without instrumental accompaniment. Instead, they made all the sounds needed as drums and percussioon. It was cool!
