Patriotic Branson

This was a non-traditional Good Friday for the Comerfords.  After a 10:30 a.m. Tribute to Neil Diamond which was very enjoyable, we went to a pedestrian walkway down by the lake called "Branson Landing."  This was a nice walk along the water and plenty of upscale stores to browse.

Lo and behold, we came upon a street vendor with a cure-all for foot problems.  It just so happens I have been having some  discomfort with my left heel, so Joan suggested I try the available insoles being sold.  Surprisingly, they did have size 14!  I put them inside my sneakers and found some relief during the day.

One of the stores Joan peeked into was a quilting shop.  (Aunt Arlene:  you would love this shop!)  I found the rear of the store quite entertaining, and here is why:

We checked the listings and found another show for 3pm which was a Country Comedy and Jamboree.   Off we went.  This turned out to be a very enjoyable mix of comedy and music.  Both very good.  Being a very conservative town, the political jokes made me smile.

One of the musical highlights was a fiddle player doing a rendition of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."  He was amazing.

After dinner, we ended the night at a "Number One Hits of the 60's" show.  This was a six person ensemble who were all fantastic.  The energy was palpable!  They covered just about every song we could think of from Motown to the Beaches of California and everyplace in between.......parts of almost 100 songs!  (Mary:  If it's missing, we found your fringe dress!)

At all three shows, veterans were invited to stand up for a round of applause and recognition.  We were quite impressed.

Late post on this subject:  Joan believes that all military personnel returning from war zones should be treated to a week in Branson with their families to hear first hand how appreciated they are and feel the love and honor.

It was a fun day and we are exhausted.
